A Little About Me
I've been an avid tennis player for as long as I can remember. I did not come from a family full of tennis players, so my training was always self-motivated and my goals were self-imposed as I struggled with long-undiagnosed Celiac disease as a teenager and in my early twenties. I played Varsity tennis for six years with several NYS Tournament placements and played the #1 position at Saint Michael's College for four years. I have received multiple NE10 Conference Player of the Week awards, ranked first team all-conference, won our team's Most Valuable Player, Original Six, and Iron Knight awards, and led the team as two-year captain. I have also taught both private and group lessons to people of all ages and skill levels for almost 10 years. I now pursue research full-time as a biochemistry Ph.D. at the University of Georgia while continuing to coach and play tennis.
I started Tennis DNA for two reasons. First, tennis is expensive. Just taking one private or group lesson a week can already set people back hundreds of dollar a month, let alone club fees, equipment, etc. And for passionate, competitive players, this on-court training is only half the battle. Strength and conditioning, college recruiting, and traveling to play tournaments are all as important as honing technique, but paying for these excludes a lot of potential players from having a chance. Now, affordable and quality coaching is available to anyone who wants it through Tennis DNA. For on and off the court.
My mission is to bring personalized and affordable instruction to people of all ages and tennis backgrounds in an accessible and efficient online format that rivals in-person coaching. For those with even more significant financial concerns, I offer this service free of charge.
